]]> I adore Kim Diehl fabrics and quilt patterns.  Kim Diehl has such fascinating applique and scrappy patchwork in her quilts.  This particular pattern is called Liberty Star and can be found in her Simple Friendships quilt book.

I won’t lie, this quilt took quite some time to complete.  There are a ton of penny circles in the stars and the applique flower portion.

This quilt is simply really beautiful though and I am so glad I had the opportunity to make this.  This is the perfect 4th of July or Patriotic quilt.  It will be hung proudly in my hall during July every year.

Kim co-authored this book with Jo Morton, another wonderful civil war fabric designer.  There are some fun patterns to be found in the book.
